Marko Spika (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Marko Spika was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Film and TV directing, at the Academy of Arts Banja Luka. In 2014, he finished Erasmus Mundus Master’s Program in Documentary Film Directing, held at three European Universities: Luca School of Arts in Brussels, Universidade Lusofona de Humanidades e Tecnologias in Lisbon, and Film and Theatre School of Budapest. He also attended documentary film workshops: ‘Atelier Varan Paris’ in Belgrade, Serbia, ‘Nisi Masa’, in Malmo, Sweden, International Summer school of Oslo, Norway, and the American Film Showcase in Los Angeles. With student and professional works, he has participated in several international film festivals such as: ‘Doclisboa’, Lisbon, Portugal, ‘International Film festival Istanbul’, Turkey, ‘Sarajevo Film Festival’ Bosnia-Herzegovina’, ‘Cypress International Film Festival’, ‘Shortini Film Festival’, Augusta, Italy, ‘One world film festival’, Brussels, Belgium. In 2010, he won the prize for the best short fiction film at the International student film festival ‘Duka Fest’, Banja Luka, Bosnia-Herzegovina. He is a member of ‘Association of Film Workers of Bosnia-Herzegovina’, member of ‘Docnomads’ Alumni association. Founder of ‘Video Kabinet’ Association and director of ‘Cinema Paralells’ film festival. Currently employed as assistant professor at the Academy of arts of the University of Banja Lu.
