About the Filmmakers

Jamie Zehler is a director, producer, and cinematographer who’s clocked over 18,000 miles on the road with documentary series Roadtrip Nation and filmed over 100 interviews across the U.S. Last year, she directed and produced the four-part documentary series “A Balanced Equation,” which highlights women in STEM and helped earn Roadtrip Nation the American Public Television 2017 Program Excellence Award. She’s also director of the film “The Road to Teach,” which aired on Pivot and premiered at SXSW EDU, and was a field producer, cinematographer, and editor on “Being You,” which delves into learning and attention issues. Her most recent film, “Degree of Impact,” premiered this winter on public television and follows people using their doctoral degrees to make a difference. Jamie is co-author of the New York Times best-selling book “Roadmap: The Get-It-Together Guide for Figuring Out What to Do With Your Life.” She’s created educational videos for Roadtrip Nation’s curriculum, and attended Clinton Global Initiative to capture students’ interviews with leaders like Valerie Jarrett and Arne Duncan. In 2015, she was invited to Talks at Google to help present on “Roadmap” and how to build a life around your interests. She lives in Southern California.

Willie Witte is the Creative Director for Roadtrip Nation. He’s in charge of brand direction and production work, sharing the company’s student-generated interviews with millions of people. With over 60,000 miles clocked in Roadtrip Nation’s Green RV, he’s now set foot in 49 of the 50 United States. Throughout his time at Roadtrip Nation, he’s been behind the lens for nearly 200 interviews with inspiring people from all walks of life. He also recently co-authored The New York Times best-selling book Roadmap: The Get-It-Together Guide for Figuring Out What To Do with Your Life.
