Steven Holleran

Steve is a director and cinematographer whose two feature films have garnered Sundance nominations in 2016 and 2018. The Macro and Nas produced, THE LAND, starring Erykah Badu and Michael K Williams premiered in 2016 and was picked up by IFC. In 2017 Steve wrapped the political drama A BOY, A GIRL, A DREAM starring Omari Hardwick and Megan Good to be released by Samuel Goldwyn. He also lensed the Leonardo DiCaprio produced Netflix Docu-Series FIRE CHASERS, about front-line fire fighters during the 2016 SoCal wildfires.

A USC School of Cinematic Arts alum, Steve taught cinematography and film production at USC while as an MFA student. He has also worked with the Surfrider Foundations as an environmental instructor at schools in San Diego. His photography has been featured in GQ and his cinematography in The Atlantic, Moviemaker, Filmmaker, ICG Mag, and No Film School. Steve is a 2008 Thomas J. Watson Fellow which inspired his first documentary feature about overfishing in the South Pacific. He spent a year living and shooting in coastal communities throughout Samoa, Chile, and New Zealand. Steve is a member of IATSE Local 600 and a graduate of Bowdoin College and Sydney Film School.
