Dorina Amina Abubakar, African Creative TV Program Specialist

Dorina is the Program Specialist of AFS’s African Creative TV Initiative (ACTV). Prior to joining the AFS team, Dorina worked in programming for the Tribeca Film Festival, Blackstar Film Festival and Brooklyn Horror Film Festival. Dorina has worked extensively as a creative producer, voice over artist and television host. She holds degrees from both NYU and UCLA and has a diverse cultural background, having been raised in Ghana, Germany, The Bahamas, and the UK. Driven by a deep passion for uplifting Black narratives, Dorina is dedicated to producing content that addresses global human rights issues and shines a spotlight on underrepresented communities.
