Arlene Nelson
Director/cinematographer Arlene Nelson, ASC DGA, excels in both large-scale multi-camera series and intimate documentaries. She directed HBO’s "Angel City," documenting the inaugural season of Angel City Football Club, founded by Natalie Portman. Nelson made her directorial debut with the award-winning HBO trilogy "Naked States," "Naked World," and "Positively Naked," with "Naked States" winning the Discovery Award at the AFI Film Festival. She recently directed Apple TV+’s "Gutsy" episode “Mothers and Daughters” and co-directed A&E’s "Secrets of Playboy," which won the Critics Choice Real TV Award. As a cinematographer, she earned an Emmy nomination for "Troubadours."
