Debra McClutchy
Debra McClutchy is a New York based documentary filmmaker and archival producer/researcher whose work explores politics, power, gender, and the arts. Debra co-originated and co-directed THE MARTHA MITCHELL EFFECT, nominated for a 2023 Academy Award ® for Best Documentary Short film and distributed by Netflix. Her recent notable archival credits include ANOTHER BODY (2023 SXSW Special Jury award), SWAMP DOGG GETS HIS POOL PAINTED (2024 SXSW Grand Jury nominee) and SECRET MALL APARTMENT (2024 SXSW Audience Award nominee). Debra co-produced the documentary feature THE BOOKSELLERS (2019 New York Film Festival premiere) distributed by Greenwich Entertainment. Debra is the Industry Liasion of the Archival Producers Alliance and contributed to the writing and public presentations of the APA guidelines“Best Practices for Use of Generative AI in Documentary Filmmaking”. She serves on the advisory group for Missing Movies, an organization whose mission is to make cinema history available to all. Debra also has industry expertise that spans development to distribution. For twelve years, she was a senior creator at Oscilloscope Laboratories, an independent film distributor founded by Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys. Debra has been a guest juror, panelist, and moderator at film festivals and film events worldwide.
