About the Filmmakers

Cristina Costantini

Cristina Costantini directed Science Fair, which won audience awards at both the Sundance and SXSW Film Festivals in 2018, as well as an Emmy and Critics’ Choice Award for Best First Time Director. As an investigative journalist, she covered detention centers, sex trafficking, and the opiate epidemic. Her investigative work has been recognized with a GLAAD Media Award and an Alfred I. duPont–Columbia University Award.

Kareem Tabsch

Kareem Tabsch directed The Last Resort, an official selection of DOC NYC distributed by Kino Lorber. Previous films include the popular shorts Dolphin Lover, about a man’s amorous relationship with a dolphin, and Cherry Pop: The Story of the World’s Fanciest Cat. He is the co-founder of the Miami art-house theater O Cinema.

Alex Fumero

Alex Fumero is a producer and writer. Current projects include WALTER, and a scripted adaptation of Richard Blanco’s memoir, The Prince of Los Cucuyos. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Original Programming, for HBO.
