Steven Ascher

Steven Ascher is an Oscar- and Emmy-nominated director and writer. His feature documentaries made with Jeanne Jordan include TROUBLESOME CREEK (Sundance Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award), SO MUCH SO FAST (Sundance premiere), and RAISING RENEE (Emmy nominee). Their most recent film is OUR TOWNS for HBO. He’s author of THE FILMMAKER’S HANDBOOK, a bestselling text, and has taught narrative and documentary filmmaking, most recently as a visiting professor at Harvard. Other awards include a Peabody Award, an International Documentary Association Distinguished Achievement Award, and he was nominated for a Directors Guild of America Award.

Jeanne Jordan

Jeanne Jordan is an Oscar- and Emmy-nominated director and editor. Her feature documentaries made with Steven Ascher include TROUBLESOME CREEK (Sundance Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award), SO MUCH SO FAST (Sundance premiere), and RAISING RENEE (Emmy nominee). Their most recent film is OUR TOWNS for HBO. She edited two episodes of the landmark civil rights series EYES ON THE PRIZE. She has taught documentary filmmaking at Harvard University and in workshops around the world. Other awards include a Peabody Award, an International Documentary Association Distinguished Achievement Award, and she was nominated for a Directors Guild of America Award.
